Ella Williamson

Broadcaster, Columnist & Blogger - Gadget Girl Ella

Immersed in consumer technology for a decade, Ella has become the go-to person for expert commentary on the subject. Explaining the latest technological devices and applications in a comprehensive fashion, Ella has become a popular expert guest choice for television programmes, radio, events, national newspapers and magazines.

She is probably best known for her five year residency as the ‘Gadget Guru’ on BBC2’s Something for the Weekend. More recently been on shows including This Morning and Good Morning Britain where she can be found presenting the latest in consumer gadgetry, toys and gifts. Through her blog, journalism and broadcasting specialises in making technology approachable for all, explaining how the latest gadgets can enrich our lives.

Ella’s career in tech started as soon as she graduated from Bristol University. She spent many years as a Gadget Buyer for a hugely popular UK e-tailer – travelling all over the world to find the next coolest consumer gadget. Contradicting the cliché that gadget lovers have to have the Y chromosome she has been invited on screen, print, air waves and by brands to share her passion and expertise with gadget fans and gadget phobes alike.

Ella will join Andrew Trotman in a session focussed on taking the lessons of traditional media and applying them to online content because content is still king in modern media.

This session is brought to you by Microsoft, thanks Microsoft!
