Davina Drummond

Blogger - Seeds & Stitches
Craft

Davina Drummond is an artist, art educator and crafter. Davina blogs at Seeds and Stitches, which she co-writes with Hannah Bullivant, which inspires people to make in the home. She is passionate about the power of making both personally and politically. Her socially engaged art practice brings people together in the public realm to craft in a reflective and questioning mode.

Davina’s work includes both creating and teaching art. Her recent commissions include a participatory artwork for WOW 2014, a large scale public artwork for Camden Council and a three month residency at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She taught on the Art & Design Foundation Course at Chelsea College of Art and at the Brit School of Performing Arts for five years. Now she is art specialist in a South London primary school, where she runs a feminist art project for all her year 6 students and leads craft club.

She lives in London with her husband Nick, a designer, and their two daughters Elfie and Bonnie. She loves to spend her free days making and baking with Elfie whilst carrying Bonnie in her sling and listening to Helen Reddy’s ‘I am a Woman’. She is a ardent feminist who drinks far too much tea whilst discussing issues of gender equality with her friends.

Davina and Hannah will be running crafts during Blogtacular 2015. You’ll be able to take some time out to sit, chat and create with your fellow bloggers.

Join us for a feast on 27th April. We’re having a get together, a chinwag, letting our hair down and basking in the the glow of great company. Once we’ve feasted, let’s head out for a bit of photo fun because we know one lunch won’t be long enough to get everything off our chests.
We’re calling it the F*ck Brexit Lunch because we’re sick of the endless purgatory that hangs around like a fart in a lift.
Spaces are limited, link it in profile, hope to see you there! #blogtacular

  • There have been a lot of posts about the press release from the CMA this week. Lots of them about ‘new’ influencer posting rules, some of them inaccurate or misleading. Have you heard something that worries you? We’re always happy to share knowledge and point you in the right direction so please ask if you need clarification.
You know we’re big supporters of following the rules and clearly disclosing at the beginning of posts - it’s the only way to cement our reputation as an industry committed to transparency. But, as with all rules getting to grips with them isn’t always plain sailing. Our podcast episode 36 is a masterclass from the ASA themselves in how to keep your ads, gifts and products clear online. #blogtacular
