Laura Jane Williams
Blogger, Writer & Author - Superlatively Rude
Laura Jane Williams believes that none of us is screwing up like we think we are.
The author of survive-and-thrive heartbreak memoir Becoming (Hodder & Stoughton, June 2016), Laura believes in messy humanness. In making mistakes and carrying on anyway. In trying. She’s Marie Claire magazine’s #BREAKFREE from fear ambassador because of that attitude. Because she believes everyone has a story to tell, and owning that story is imperative to helping other people own theirs.
She writes to upwards of 40,000 readers on her open, honest and swear-y blog Superlatively Rude, and little love notes via her Tiny Letter, too. Hundreds of folks downloaded her ebook The Book of Brave, and she has written everywhere from Grazia to the Guardian.
Laura is the co-founder and host of IRL Panel, a panel and friendly networking event for women with a lot to say, hosted at Twitter HQ, London. She’s in the process of launching the #BECOMING podcast: conversations about the stuff that breaks us, and the attitudes that make us. She is a prolific speaker and workshop facilitator at major events, from International Women’s Day at Wales Millennium Centre to The Debrief magazine’s “Winter Nights” series.
Laura will be taking a Writing Masterclass in which she will take you through practical exercises to help your writing jump from the screen.
